Typical question that you would ask or being asked when meeting ex-Carbondale mate is:
“Eh mana X?”, or
“Where is X?
Thus, this page is dedicated to probably answer the “who is where” question and hopefully it will be updated by all of us.
The format listed is by:
- name (alphabetically arranged) – maybe with old photo and current one,
- year at Carbondale [note: does have to be schooling there – can be just accompanying spouse, etc],
- place stayed in Carbondale – if possible – list all
- current home/resident – does not have to be with full address – if confidential
- contact no. – if not confidential
- place of work – limited to what you want to tell us (also phone no.)
It shall be updated below soon. Do check again. And if you want to tell us about you or friend/s that you know – please email to me [akarimomar@yahoo.com]

Br A Karim, were you the one who let me, my wife and amin stay at your Ivy Hall apt for about two weeks in summer of 2004 just before we left for Malaysia for the break? And that you wrote a check for me for fetching Dr Mohd Nur Manuty from Lambert Airport a year before that? I remember buying a set of tapes from you, then! You had that awesome recording device…!!
I mean, summer of 1984!!!
Sdr. Wahi,
Anta have a very good memory.
What are you doing in the States – whereabout?
I went there last 2005 and 2006.
Do write some nostalgic memories about our SIUC days.
Wassalam
My name is Aaron J. Victor, originally from Teluk Intan, Perak. I have been in SIUC for 5 years now from 2004 to 2009. I currently work as a Student Recruiter for Southeast Asia in SIUC as a staff. I have some good news for all the alumni in Malaysia.
Firstly, Southern Illinois University of Carbondale is interested in having an official gathering in Malaysia between the month of December this year. During this dinner we are looking to establish our first international alumni chapter outside the USA. We are looking for people to head up this effort. I will be in Malaysia after August 16 to September 5th, 2010 on official business and I would be glad to meet any alumni during my visit.
Please fill out the following form so we can update your contact [https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dGFlSDJJRFZNQlNEeWVSOVgzZXhPd2c6MA]
Secondly, we have signed some Memorandum Of Understanding (M.O.U) with HELP institute, Inti college and sunway university, this memorandum allows students from the following university to transfer to SIUC and receive the resident rate which is what the american students pay.
Please contact me for further information and looking forward to hear from you.
Go Salukis!
